A. The Automated Battlebook System
(ABS) is designed specifically for the United States Army Field Support
Command as a flexible deployment planning tool. ABS provides
real-time access to critical information about Army
Prepositioned Stocks (APS) worldwide.

Q. What is the current
version of ABS and when was it released?
A. The
current version is ABS 2007-1. It was released in
July 2007.

Q. What are the minimum
system requirements for ABS?

Operating System: Windows 2000 or XP.

Processor: Pentium, 200 MHz.

RAM: 64 MB.

Hard Disk: 450 MB for Standalone/Server, 150 MB for Client.

Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 pixels.

Q. I’m having problems with the installation
of ABS. What should I do?
A. If
you’re having problems with the installation or with any other
part of your ABS program, please note the error message and code
number. Then contact either your Database Administrator or the Stanley Associates Technical Support team at 1-800-76-AWRDS (1-800-762-9737). As a reminder,
always read the ReadMe text if
having a problem. Usually, you can find the answer to the
problem in there.

Q. Who develops ABS?
A. ABS is
developed by Stanley Associates, Inc., an Information
Technology company with its headquarters in Alexandria, VA.
Stanley has been providing innovative and customized solutions
for Federal and commercial clients since 1966.

Q. How do I get on the ABS CD distribution
list?
A.
In order
to be put on the ABS CD-ROM
Distribution list, you must be approved by Field Support
Command. After you send in your information, you are usually
notified with approval or disapproval status within two weeks.

Q. How do I get ABS training?
A. If you are
an active or reserve component, FORSCOM P2L office has
MTT’s scheduled for the upcoming year. Contact Dr. D. Povah in
the FORSCOM P2L office for more information.

Q. Why does ABS not run on Windows 2000/XP when
I log in as a user?
A.
ABS needs read/write/modify/execute privileges for ABS program folder and
ABS registry keys. Refer to the ABSPermissions.doc in the ABS/BIN directory.
Please contact your administrator to grant the required privileges.
